A new Day, a Fresh New Page

Image
Every day I sit down to write in the early morning quiet when I am the only one awake. This morning when I sat down, kinda heavy hearted over some issues in life, I sat gazing at a blank screen wondering what to write. It's a new day, a new page and I wasn't going to write about my angst but I did and felt a bit better afterwards. I was going to erase it so that no one would ever read it, but I didn't because I need it for a reminder for my future self.     After I finished mulling over what I wrote I realized: Every day is a new day, a fresh page to start with and we shouldn't wake up carrying over yesterday's woes and burdens. Each day is a chance to start anew with the intention of being a better self than we were yesterday. Each day is a page in the book of life and not all are going to be perfect. Stories are boring when they lack imperfection and Life is no exception. We are the authors of our own book and each story is different.  ...

The Calm After the Storm

Image
Greetings from the Adirondacks! I hope today finds you all live and well! ❤️ 🥰🤗 There's just something about the still of winter and peaceful calm after a storm that soothes my sometimes wary soul. I'm not sure precisely how much snow my neck of the woods, probably about a foot and we still have frigid temps. Do I mind? Nope! I know that the bright, vibrant colors of spring are not too far off on the horizon. I take advantage of being homebound in the winter to be creative with my "indoor" crafts. When the weather is nice, I am outside in nature as often as I can be and that is when I am most creative with my photography. It helps that I also work at a garden center for going on my third year this year and I am looking forward to that! 🤗🥰 If you are like me and sort of yearning for warmer, colorful days and maybe having a bit of winter blues, I invite you to check out some of my favorite pics on  Google Maps .  Until next time, ciao for now!  P.S. Feel...

Building from the ground up...again

Greetings from the Adirondack tundra! Well, maybe not so tundra today being in the single digits, but we are in the throes of a two day storm. It's a great day to create which leads me to the topic of this post.      I used to have a Wordpress blog but hadn't been consistent with it and my blog is no more. Life happened and I found myself writing less, on my blog anyway. I still journal almost on the daily. I started that blog about ten years ago and a lot of memories were on that blog. I had always thought about getting my own domain because I would get distracted by the hubbub of the Wordpress blogs out there. I didn't want to pay and then not commit to it.      A few weeks ago, I came across a video on Ted Talk  from an artist that I have never heard of, Amie McNee. I'll be honest, the caption on the thumbnail caught my attention!     Aime got me to thinking of my blog posts of the past and that I should start blogging...

Introduction

GREETINGS!      Welcome to my blog, The Thought Gallery. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Jennavive. I have been dabbling with blogging in the past, but have not in quite a while. I took the plunge yesterday and bought my own domain, so now I am locked in to actually USE my blog as my creative outlet.     What can I expect to read on your blog, you might be asking yourself? That's a good question! I am a person of many creative interests so I do not have any one specific niche or content to share. You can expect to see some beautiful nature pics, sardonic commentaries about everyday life, videos posted from my YouTube, poetry, arts and crafts and maybe the occasional recipe. I guess you could say, you never know what to expect here in The Thought Gallery. I plan to post at least once a week but definitely not limiting my number to that.     My site is under construction so please bear with me as I figure out how to customize my domain and make ...
