Spring Fever
Spring has almost sprung! The weather this past weekend was so mild and helped to melt some of the snow that we got this winter. It was so awesome to get out for a solo walk around the pond that I live near. While I did not see any deer, I did see lots of snapped and downed trees and branches.
The crisp blue skies were dappered with whispy clouds against the backdrop of Mount Baker. It was just me, my thoughts and lovely scenery, minus all the muddy ponds in the middle of the road in between watery ice chunks that I had to navigate around. I was so excited to get a picture of my favorite "portal" stump, thinking that I was capturing the mountains in the background. What I actually captured was a bunch of snow! 😂 At any rate, it was nice to get out for some fresh air and the best part was-it was not peopley. One car went by me the entire way around the pond and it felt like it was just me and Mother Nature.
The Adirondack winters can be tough, especially with the cold temps. It's not pleasant at all to go out for a walk with wind chills being -20s like we've had this past winter so any day that I can get out, I have been. Soon enough, this snow will melt and give way to new life. It's not too long until mud season and being bug buffet so I will take a nice end of winter walk any time! I am grateful for where I live and the beauty that I am blessed to see every day.
